Studio portrait - COUPLE

Jayama and his wife Jennanie.

This blog entry is simply a way of giving further details relating to my photo-shoot with Jayama that will include his wife who has just been granted a VISA into Australia to finally start a life with her beloved husband in this great country of ours. Such a nice story really.

Jayama and Jennanie (i think that's how you spell it) are booked in for a studio shoot tomorrow (September 11, 2012) and will be accompanied by Jayama's sister who i will also include into the couple shot theme as more of family-based origin.

I was going to photograph Jayama's family (Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Wife and himself, but felt the studio environment here at CIT is too sterile for such a colourful bunch of people, not to mention a little cramped for space.

So i intend to photograph Jayama, his wife and his sister in a few different combinations as part of the overall dual portrait. I aim to make the distinction between who is his wife and who is his sister clear to the viewer.

The important things to consider tomorrow will be:

  • the height relationship between subjects.
  • the placement of hands.
  • body posture.
  • garment details.
  • any cultural traditions.
